Rapid immunoassay for the quantification of seasonal influenza hemagglutinin (HA) protein

The new VaxArray® Influenza System provides a fast, automated and easy way to quantify the seasonal influenza virus titer (immunogenic HA). The assay is based on three subtype-specific monoclonal antibodies immobilized on a microarray. Due to the high specificity, accuracy and fast analysis time (about 2 hours), the VaxArray® Influenza System can be used during both up and downstream processes of vaccine production and is a valuable tool in influenza research. As a time-saving and non-toxic alternative to the single radial immunodiffusion (SRID) method and as a non-enzymatic variant to the ELISA, the new VaxArray® Influenza System can be used for most sample types (e.g. split virus, virus-like particles). The results are comparable to the gold standard SRID method and show no difference between egg and cell-based vaccine production.
