Novel solution for creating 3D cell models
RASTRUM is designed to support advanced 3D cell culture applications in drug discovery, biomedical research, and 3D cell biology. The platform provides researchers with a precise and efficient way to generate robust, reproducible 3D cell models that reflect the complexity of human tissues. Its proprietary drop-on-demand bioprinting approach enables rapid, consistent formation of physiologically relevant cell environments.
The RASTRUM platform:
- Minimises hands-on steps and standardises model creation to improve workflow efficiency and experimental reproducibility
- Enables teams to confidently scale 3D culture work, from early-stage research to advanced applications
- Provides a reliable foundation for disease modelling, drug screening, and regenerative medicine studies
- Supports more predictive and translatable scientific outcomes
A complete benchtop solution:
- The intuitive cloud-based software simplifies printing parameters and 3D architecture design.
- Drop-on-demand bioprinting technology enables consistent and reproducible production of advanced cell models in a multi-well plate at scale.
- Homogeneous distribution within the droplet enables high precision and speed, along with reproducibility and scalability.
- The universal print deck allows printing in 24, 96 and 384-well plates.
- Integrated Dual HEPA filters maintain a sterile and safe environment to protect cells from contamination.
Preserving 3D integrity – RASTRUM’s inert base layer, which coats the bottom of the well, prevents cells from migrating towards plastic surfaces, where they attach and lose their 3D characteristics. This innovation preserves the integrity of the 3D microenvironment, preventing the formation of 2D monolayers and enabling more physiologically relevant experiments.
The RASTRUM platform workflow
The cloud-based guided experimental design allows you to develop your 3D model from start to finish in 5 steps:
- Select your matrix from a large library of different matrices to mimic your individual tissue microenvironment.
- Select your model architecture by choosing the structure and cell model that best meet experimental needs.
- Follow a simple protocol to prepare your cells.
- Generate your 3D cell model using RASTRUM’s drop-on-demand bioprinting technology.
- Grow your cell model and integrate your analysis with existing downstream workflows and readouts.
Different cell model architectures allow you to cover a range of applications, including imaging, screening and cell extraction. These flexible architectures can be seamlessly integrated into various well plate formats, trans-well inserts or cover slips.
