EVE™ HT A26: A fully automated high-throughput cell counting and analysis platform. Maximise counting, minimise handling.
The EVE™ HT A26 is a fully automated, high-throughput cell counter that processes 96 samples in 10 minutes with dual-fluorescence detection. By integrating sample preparation, cell counting, and data analysis in a single platform, the EVE HT A26 simplifies complex workflows. From research laboratories to large-scale manufacturing, the instrument offers the flexibility required across a wide range of applications such as:
- Cell & Gene Therapy manufacturing
- Viral vaccine production
- High-throughput screening
- Bioprocess development
- Cell line development and engineering
After loading consumables and samples, the system performs pipetting, aliquoting, dilution, staining and counting in a single unattended run. A high-precision pipetting module handles sample handling and counting simultaneously, reducing hands-on time and eliminating operator-to-operator variability in results.
Benefit from:
- Hands-free processing – No manual pipetting at any stage, from sample loading through to final count.
- High-throughput – By counting 96 samples in 10 minutes and dual-processing handling and counting, the system maximises operational efficiency.
- Lower sample volumes – delivers accurate analysis with smaller sample volumes (20 μL Direct mode and ≥40 μL Full mode).
- Reliable and precise analysis – multiplane imaging combined with dual-fluorescence (AO/DAPI) and bright-field channels, and reduced debris-related interference, guarantees reliable analysis and precision.
- Low user variability – Standardised counting parameters and automated aliquoting plus dilution remove operator-related variability.
EVE HT A26 automated workflow
EVE™ HT A26 reduces hands-on working time by automating sample preparation and counting within a single integrated workflow. The instrument completes a 96-sample run in ten minutes, eliminating the manual steps that typically constrain high-throughput cell counting.
The platform is designed for automated, high-throughput cell counting, providing laboratories with reproducible cell count data across large sample batches, including comparisons between operators, shifts, and sites.
How does the EVE HT A26 automate sample dilution and staining?
After the user loads the consumables and samples onto the deck, EVE™ HT A26 automatically executes the complete high-throughput cell-counting process, including aliquoting, diluting, mixing, loading, and counting.
This walk-away mode of operation reduces operator involvement while preserving the accuracy and consistency of cell-counting results, independent of the operator initiating the run. Removing manual handling from every step of the workflow, not only the counting step itself, addresses operator-dependent variability at its origin.

How accurate is the EVE HT A26 for cell counting?
EVE™ HT A26 supports AO/DAPI, Trypan blue, and Erythrosin B staining across dual-fluorescence and brightfield channels. Automated aliquoting and dilution standardise the protocol across every sample within a run.
This combination extends the instrument’s utility beyond routine counting into applications typically associated with dedicated fluorescen
t cell counters, including viability assessment in primary cells, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), and stem cells, where debris, red blood cells, and platelets frequently interfere with bright-field and dye-exclusion methods such as Trypan blue.
AO/DAPI dual fluorescence labels nucleic acids directly, distinguishing nucleated cells from non-nucleated background material and supporting the reproducibility increasingly required in cell and gene therapy manufacturing, vaccine production, and other GMP-regulated workflows.
Can the EVE HT A26 be used in a GMP environment?
Yes. I&L Biosystems can provide optional IQ/OQ documentation to support qualification in accordance with GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
