Environmental Scrub Sampler

The Neogen® Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick combines innovative design and advanced materials in a single sampling device. The multilayered non-woven composite material is engineered for effective pick-up, release, and absorbency, and maintains its integrity when sampling rough surfaces. The Neogen® Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick features scrub dot technology to disrupt biofilm and enhance sample collection.

The Neogen® Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick is pre-hydrated with the proprietary Neogen® Wide Spectrum Neutraliser, which offers effective neutralisation for a variety of sanitisers used in the food and beverage industries, including quaternary ammonium compounds, high-acid cleaners, chlorine-based sanitisers, hydrogen peroxide, and peroxyacetic acid-based sanitisers. Neogen® Wide Spectrum Neutraliser is formulated using components accepted for use in the food industry. It is free from known allergenic components, animal-derived materials (ADM), polymerase chain reaction (PCR) inhibitors, and elements derived from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Neogen® Wide Spectrum Neutraliser is also designed to be compatible with Neogen® Petrifilm Plates and the Neogen® Molecular Detection System. It allows for a sample hold time of up to 96 hours at refrigerated temperatures.

The Neogen® Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick contains a metal additive for metal detectability*. The ergonomic stick is suitable for multiple grip types, includes a thumb-stop to promote aseptic sampling technique, and features an easy-to-use one-step twist detachment mechanism.

The Neogen® Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick with 10 mL Wide Spectrum Neutraliser is the first and only sample collection device and neutralising solution to be granted the AOAC® Performance Tested Methods℠ Certificate (#022104).

The Neogen® Environmental Scrub Sampler with 10 mL Wide Spectrum Neutraliser is supplied in a 6” x 11” Neogen® Sample Bag with a 30 oz / 0.89 L capacity, ensuring safe and convenient transport to the laboratory. The sample bag is double-laminated for strength, puncture resistance, and durability during blending or transport. Wire ties ensure a secure closure, while a blue top and large white write-on area assist with bag identification. Both the sample bag and sampling device are terminally decontaminated via gamma irradiation.

*The sampling stick is designed for metal detectability. However, all metal detection equipment and process conditions may vary, resulting in varying sensitivity. Neogen® recommends testing the stick within your product, process, and environment to determine suitability and compatibility with the specific metal detection equipment.
