The Neogen® Petrifilm® Aerobic Count (AC) Plate is a time-saving, sample-ready plate designed to determine total aerobic bacteria populations. A built-in grid facilitates colony counting, helping to deliver fast, precise, and consistent results. Each Petrifilm Aerobic Count Plate contains a water-soluble gelling agent, nutrients, and an indicator — all the components required for microbial growth, with no agar preparation. The Petrifilm AC Plate provides total aerobic counts in 48 hours. A red indicator dye colours all colonies red, offering greater contrast and making colony counting easier. The red colonies are also easily distinguishable from opaque food particles that may confuse when using other plating methods. Additionally, Neogen® Petrifilm Aerobic Count Plates can be used to enumerate lactic acid bacteria in food and environmental samples under aerobic and anaerobic conditions.
