This spreader is compatible with the following Neogen® Petrifilm® Plates: Staph Express Count, Rapid Yeast and Mould, Salmonella Express System, Rapid Aerobic Count, Lactic Acid Bacteria Count, and Rapid E. coli/Coliform Plates. Once the sample has been prepared, the top film is lifted from the Neogen® Petrifilm Plate to expose the inoculation area, and the diluted sample is added. The technician then replaces the film over the sample and uses the spreader to distribute it evenly. The precise acrylic construction of the spreader allows the technician to ensure proper distribution of the inoculum.
