The Neogen® Petrifilm® Rapid E. coli / Coliform Count (REC) Plate is a selective and differential, sample-ready culture medium system containing proprietary nutrients, a cold-water-soluble gelling agent, 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-D-glucuronide (BCIG) as an indicator of glucuronidase activity, and a tetrazolium indicator to support colony enumeration. The Petrifilm REC Plate enumerates Escherichia coli (E. coli) and coliforms in the food and beverage industries.
These plates confirm results for both E. coli and total coliform counts within 18 to 24 hours.
