The Neogen® Petrifilm® Rapid Yeast and Mould Count Plate method delivers results in as little as 48 hours of incubation, compared to the traditional agar method, which requires a five-day incubation period. Yeasts and moulds can thrive in various conditions across raw materials, finished products, and production environments, making them particularly challenging to control. This Petrifilm Yeast and Mould Count Plate features innovative indicator technology that enhances colony visibility and interpretation.
Proven to be as reliable as the DRBC and DG18 spread plate methods, as well as acidified PDA and YGC agar pour plate methods, Petrifilm Rapid Yeast and Mould Count Plates improve productivity by eliminating the need to prepare and inoculate multiple spread plates, add antibiotics or tartaric acid, or prepare agar. Faster results allow quicker monitoring and tighter process control, supporting product quality. An integrated foam barrier around the inoculation area makes it easier to inoculate the plates and interpret the results, while specialised technology prevents mould colonies from spreading and overlapping. Petrifilm RYM Plates remove the need for labour-intensive, multi-plate spread techniques, offering reliable results in as little as 48 hours for most product categories.
