Petrifilm® Staph Express Count Plates 20×25

The Neogen® Petrifilm® Staph Express (STX) System consists of a Petrifilm® Staph Express Count (STX) Plate and a Petrifilm® Staph Express (STX) Disk, which are packaged separately. The Petrifilm STX Plate is a sample-ready culture medium containing a cold-water-soluble gelling agent. The chromogenic, modified Baird-Parker medium within the plate is selective and differential for Staphylococcus aureus, but may also indicate Staphylococcus hyicus or Staphylococcus intermedius.

By detecting S. aureus in food and environmental samples, Petrifilm® Staph Express Count Plates provide food processors with an indication of food quality and a risk assessment of sanitation effectiveness. Distinctive red-violet colonies can appear in as little as 22 hours. The test requires only a single incubation temperature and is equivalent to the BAM three-plate Baird-Parker agar and tube coagulase method.
