Sample collection is simple with the Neogen® Swab-Sampler. The vial provides ample headspace for sample addition and vortexing to release organisms from the swab. This sampling device is also decontaminated via gamma irradiation to ensure a long shelf life. The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) methodology is the world’s most widely recognised food safety management protocol.
Sample collection products from Neogen® are a crucial part of this methodology, designed to identify potential foodborne hazards and pinpoint their source. Portability, stable enrichment media, and easy-to-handle swabs and sponges are developed to test for possible risks and deliver highly accurate results. They are engineered to collect, contain safely, and transport contents from the sampling site to the laboratory without leakage or compromising the sample.
Neutralising Buffer is recommended for surface testing to detect the presence of microorganisms that may be found on dairy and food equipment disinfected with chlorine or quaternary ammonium compounds. It can inactivate the bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects of chlorine and quaternary ammonium compounds. Neutralising these chemicals is essential for accurately detecting potentially harmful microorganisms. Neutralising buffer is used in the microbiological examination of surfaces as a standard method for testing dairy products and foods.
