Sample collection is simple with the Neogen® Swab-Sampler. The vial provides ample headspace for sample addition and vortexing to release organisms from the swab. This sampling device is also decontaminated via gamma irradiation to ensure a long shelf life. The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) methodology is the world’s most widely recognised food safety management protocol.
Sample collection products from Neogen® are an essential part of this methodology, designed to identify potential foodborne hazards and determine their source. Portability, stable enrichment media, and easy-to-handle swabs and sponges are developed to test for possible risks and deliver highly accurate results. They are engineered to collect, safely contain, and transport contents from the sampling site to the laboratory without leakage or compromising the sample’s integrity.
Neutralising Buffer is recommended for surface testing to detect microorganisms that may be present on dairy and food equipment treated with chlorine or quaternary ammonium compounds. It can inactivate the bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects of chlorine and quaternary ammonium compounds. Neutralising these chemicals is essential for the accurate detection of potentially harmful microorganisms. Neutralising Buffer is used in the microbiological examination of surfaces according to standard methods for testing dairy products and foods.
