JuLI™ Stage – Real-time live cell imaging system

The JuLI™ Stage sets a new benchmark for real-time live cell imaging. It enables seamless time-lapse imaging and real-time monitoring within a compact design that fits effortlessly into any standard incubator.

Key features

  • Designed to simplify cell imaging and capturing cell videos
  • Compact and compatible with a standard CO₂ incubator
  • Fully automated X-Y-Z stage
  • Multi-channel fluorescence imaging (GFP, RFP, DAPI and Bright field)
  • Intuitive & powerful software
  • Capture and analyse images in real time

This fully automated system is designed for direct image acquisition from a broad range of cell culture formats, including plates with 6 to 384 wells, culture flasks, microslides, and dishes, all while housed within an incubator.

Equipped with multi-channel fluorescence capabilities (GFP, RFP, DAPI) and interchangeable objective lenses (4X, 10X, and 20X), the JuLI™ Stage delivers optimised performance for live cell assays through its sensitive, filter-based optics. Additionally, it provides exceptionally reliable quantification of cell confluence with minimal variation and allows for accurately tracking growth curves via bright field imaging.

The system is designed to save considerable time and effort, enabling researchers to monitor cells in real time and determine the optimal points for further experimentation. Automated X-Y-Z stage and user-friendly software enhances the ability to focus on specific areas of interest, ensuring precise and consistent imaging across various applications, from cell proliferation studies to 3D spheroid culture analysis.

The compact design of the JuLI™ Stage makes it perfect for installation and operation within a standard incubator. Throughout an experiment, which can range from several hours to weeks, the system can be monitored and controlled via the included computer outside the incubator.

Software

The JuLI™ Stage instrument is equipped with intuitive and powerful software that enhances its live cell imaging capabilities. This software enables users to easily set up and control experiments, capturing time-lapse images and videos across multiple user-defined positions.

Advanced features like automated image stitching and Z-stack imaging enable detailed, high-resolution analysis. Additionally, the software facilitates real-time monitoring and data analysis, providing quantitative metrics such as cell confluence and growth curves. Designed for ease of use, it streamlines the entire imaging process, saving researchers considerable time and effort while ensuring accurate and reliable results.

The software includes two image editing packages: Image Editor and Movie Maker.
Image Editor improves image quality with background correction and auto-adjustment functions, and Movie Maker creates numerous types of movies.
